When life gives you lemons…

Honestly, this past year was something I did not expect.

Life truly tried to test me in every single way, but making lemonade when life gives you lemons is the best thing you can do.

I started Ideas into Action because I saw a possibility and wanted to make it happen. Right now my projects are all for the family businesses, but I need to start somewhere.

What I really want to talk about is my second idea, and this one is truly on brand with bringing an idea into something real.

I went to visit a friend in Norway and used that vacation to disconnect and find myself again. Precious time. That place was completely magical.

What I didn't know was that I was going to create something completely new.

One day while chatting with my friend and her family, someone described their dog as "not the sharpest knife, but a blunt spoon." We immediately laughed. I thought maybe this was an expression I wasn't aware of, but no, this person invented it out of the blue.

I wanted to put it on a t-shirt. It was hilarious. And while walking through the forest with my friend, I decided I was going to do it.

The next day, on the train back to the airport, I started playing with Gemini and created the first shirt prototype. Nothing fancy: just a white t-shirt with "I'm not a sharp knife, I'm a blunt spoon" embroidered on it.

But then of course I thought about how to market it. I needed a brand. And the Blunt Spoon Society was born.

I started thinking about who the Blunt Spoon is, what the Blunt Spoon stands for. It was one of the most productive days I've had in my life: doing something I love while having so much fun because I could see the potential.

Now I'm waiting for the sample shirts to arrive. I want to be sure they're what I envisioned.

Soon the Blunt Spoon Society will be a reality, and I cannot wait.
